Stories of Essex Sociology: A 50th Anniversary Project

In 2014 the Sociology Department at Essex, along with the University itself, will celebrate its 50th birthday.

The Stories project is one of the ways in which we wish to celebrate our rich past. The aims of the project are:

• To provide a social history – a record of the department life over the years – and the impact it has had on lives in different ways
• To provide a memory bank for former students and staff – a place where they can recall times in Sociology at Essex, give short life histories since their departure, and maybe deposit photos, video clips, documents etc.
  

The Stories of Essex Sociology project will launch officially in October 2014 but its future is unlimited; it will continue to grow over the lifespan of the department.
